WHAT SAY YOU?

Check out this recent study:

http://news.yahoo.com/low-iq-conservative-beliefs-linked-prejudice-180403506.html

I know a number of people who are conservative who don't fit this profile at all, and it is enough to cause me to wonder about the validity of the study.

On the other hand, these results might be a validation of John Stuart Mill, who famously said "Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative."

The study may have just proven to be a confirmation of something we have known for a long time.

I also know lots of conservatives who don't fit the stereotype. But a lot of them do fit the stereotype. Examples include: the GOP audience that booed the openly gay Marine who was talking about Don't Ask Don't Tell; the audience members who shouted "Yeah!!!" when somebody asked Ron Paul whether an uninsured person should be left to die in the ER; and the audience that cheered when Gingrich talked about getting rid of child labor laws.

As far as racism goes, it's always been conventional wisdom that KKK and Nazi-type groups attract people who aren't exactly the brightest porchlight on the block.

That's a fascinating article, and the answer is in there. What the study shows is broad averages. The average income in a building full of business people could be $36,000, yet a few could have six-figure incomes.
