STANDARD DEVIATION ROCKS!
We rocked and rolled at the La Grande High School 30-year Class Reunion (yes, I'm a "class of '75" graduate!) Mark is on the left, playing the guitar. I'm sitting at the keyboard and singing, Mike is playing bass. Visible in the background is our guest Pat, on tenor saxophone. Not in the picture are drummer Joel and guitarist Steve. More pictures may be posted as they are available! Thanks to my good friend Al for the photo!

Cool, Snave! So how many songs do you guys do now?
Encore! Encore!
Dude I was born in 75!
That looks like a ton of fun, Snave!!! :-))) Are your band friends all old high school buddies, or did you manage to drag them to your high school reunion?
The idea of staying close with friends from high school for 30 years would be amazing although not impossible.
Sheryl: our bass player, Mike, also graduated from La Grande High School in '74. Steve and Joel, not pictured here, work for the same outfit as me, and they have both lived here in town for the past 10-15 years. Mark the guitarist is the only one of us not involved somehow in education, and he is also the "baby" of the group at age 45! (Steve, at 55, is the oldest.) Our guest Pat, in the background on the sax, is one of my classmates from '75. Our graduating class had 210 students, and we are still a very close group despite our size.
J., our band has about 35 songs we can do reasonably well at this point, and another 10 or so that could use some work but which aren't bad.
Damien, you are just a kid!
And Lizzy, there will undoubtedly be more pictures during the next month, as we have two performance dates on August 18 and 25!
This is really neat. Do you have any recordings out there? I wanna hear. When is the southern swing of your tour taking place? Should I rent the local stadium now, or wait a bit?
I'm hoping to get some decent recordings of our group sometime soon. If and when that comes about, I'll gladly make and distribute some copies to those who are interested.
At the end of this year, we plan to make band t-shirts that have our "Standard Deviation" logo on the front and which list our performances on the back. La Grande is in the Grande Ronde Valley, so we plan to call our list "The 2005 Grande Tour". It will have exaggerated names for the "venues", i.e. Max Square will become Max Square Arena... Cove Ascension School will become Cove Ascension Amphitheater, Riveria School will become Riveria Coliseum, etc. There should be about eight dates in all!
Mark, our guitarist, is also a professional photographer. He took a group photo on Thursday at his studio, and it will appear in our local paper's "weekly entertainment guide" tomorrow or Saturday, advertising our show next Thursday at Max Square here in LG. I'll try and get him to e-mail me the photo so I can post it here.
I bet you like Joe Jackson (I'm a man - Is she really take him home tonight - look sharp)
That's so cool, Snave. I need to get something done with my music as well. Its good to see what you're accomplishing. :-)
