*TURTLE ON A FENCE POST
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to former Texas Govenor Geoge W. Bush and his going to the White House.
The old man said, "Well , ya know, Bush is a "post turtle".
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a "post turtle" was.
The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just want to help the dumb shit get down and move on"

Thanks for the reminder, I had long since forgotten the story of the post turtle.
It's most appropriate.
"Dumb as a post" might also apply in this case, but I don't think Dumbya is really all that dumb. In fact, I think he's a pretty smart guy who just happens to have thought disorders... But I think the "post turtle" story kind of fits him to a tee!
Post Turtle -- LOL. I think I've heard that before but forgotten about it. Perfect description of Bush and Iraqmire.

I think of Bush as kind of an erect, walking phallus... kind of like the worst possible mix of two things that should NEVER mix: fundamentalist religion and testosterone.
Thanks for that. "Turtle on a fencepost" popped into my head this morning and I went Google to find out about it. Your blog was a great example of it.
