THANK YOU, ROBERT MUELLER!

I'm hoping this will be the nail in Gonzales' political coffin. It certainly looks like a smoking gun, anyway. I don't see how on earth he can get around this one. Not only should this just about sink Gonzales entirely, it should also be extremely damaging to what little credibility the Bush administration has left.
If Gonzales has a shred of decency in his bones, he will resign right away... although I would rather see him continue to try and hang on, because that means Dumbya would have to explain why he isn't firing Gonzales or asking him to resign. Seeing Gonzales squirm is fun, but seeing Dumbya squirm is even more funner.
This stuff keeps piling up on the administration at what seems to be an exponential rate. I think the rate of negative events for the administration is now at the point on the chart where I drew the big fat X, and soon we will see events happen so rapidly that the administration will be at the little X, the point from which I think there is probably no return.

Geez, I sure hope you're right. It feels like we should have impeached him 10 times already.
By the way, I dig the rainbow vomit. So transcendent.
Thank you for an image that will give me nightmares. :P Still, I hope Congress keelhauls Gonzalez, and I hope the DoJ investigates the gross civil rights violations by Duke University, the Durham PD, and the Durham DA's office, as well as others. As always, pessimism springs eternal.
I'm with you on the Duke stuff, MC.
As for the picture, I was thinking more about Gonzales being a clown, but the vomit is definitely a colorful touch. If I remember right, in college we used to call that a technicolor yawn!
10 times already... wow, it sure DOES feel that way...
Hi snave!
I love the clown image!
It was mentioned a couple of times today that Arlen Specter was traveling with the President on Air Force 1 today. I have the feeling that he was trying to convince George to ask Gonzo to resign since there is no more wiggle room here. If Gonzo doesn't resign the investigation will continue and get more information. I'm surprised that Bush would want to take that chance.
I have a feeling we may be hearing that Gonzo is "stepping down for the good of the country" sometime Friday evening...when all the crap is dumped from the White House.
There's no question that this is (or should be) a big deal, but it seems such small potatoes compared to all the other outrages of this administration, you know? Oh well, it's a start.
The question would be what would happen if Bush pardoned him (Gonzo) for the crimes he "may" have committed?
Would Gonzo be more dangerous to the administration freed from any future prosecution or would he be more of a threat with the axe still hanging over him?
One thin I'll bet is that the "Lawyers" from Liberty University School of Law are working overtime praying for the vision to weave escape paths from the web of loopholes.
The clown looks like it should be on a stamp at a Grateful Dead concert.
Hi Snave. First, thank you for your visit and comment at Politics Plus, and greetings, fellow Oregonian.
The reason, Bush clings so desperately to Gonzo is that he depends on Electrode AL to write him legal opinions that his crimes (wiretaps, torture, etc.)are legal. Bush uses those opinions to maintain plausible deniability of criminal intent. Were Gonzo to step down, Bush would have to get the next AG confirmed in the Senate, and the Dems there are not about to approve another neocon/theocon, ideologue sycophant. A new AG would investigate Bush's crimes, and that would mean a bright shiny new cell for the Crawford Criminal.
Gonzo is like the maid in the mansion. He hears many of the dirty workings that nobody should know.
Thus he is protected.
And then you look at the news today and The White House says it's a Democratic crusade against Gonzales. Crusade? That's a strange choice of words.
El-Turdo will probably come down with the first case of athlete's tongue in mediacl history, since he can't seem to stop putting his foot in his mouth.
I think Gonzo will step down while the Congress is in recess. If he doesn't, they should start impeachment proceedings with him and then work their way up.
Great picture. I can't believe Electrodes Gonzales is still in power. This is as clear a case of perjury as you can get. If Gonzales had half this much trouble "recalling" everything, he would have long ago left the oven on, walked out the front door without closing it and stepped out in front of a car.
