NEW ARRIVAL AT THE SNAVE HOUSE

This is Phineas, or Phin for short. He comes to our home from the SW Washington Humane Society in Vancouver, WA. He is 10 weeks old. We just introduced him to our cat community about a half hour ago.

So far our older cats Mac and Abby are merely curious, and don't seem hostile. Zeva seems pretty upset, and we have heard quite a bit of hissing from her. She has swatted Phinny once already. After the loss of Zeke, we are hoping that Zeva will warm up to this little guy. Time will tell.

Phin was great in the car today. During a 4 1/2 hour car ride he slept for about three hours in Mrs. Snave's lap. He is totally litter-box trained, and seems like a fun-loving little guy. We are very pleased to have him in our family!

Bless you, Snave. That's one less bright, beautiful little creature that won't be euthanized for lack of a family.

I can see he's a precious little guy. Don't be surprised if one of your other cats sort of "adopts" him. That's what happened when we brought our second-most-recent adoptee, a kitten, home. Happened right after we brought her in the door and set her down, and it was heartwarming to see. It was if the two of them had been hoping for each other.

The new adoptee was Phoebe, a pretty, nearly all-black female. She was the last of her litter to be adopted, and when I saw her sad, lonely little face peering wistfully out her cage at the adopt-a-pet fairgrounds event put on by several shelters, I knew we had to make her part of our family.

We had adopted her instant pal, Fritz, at one of those events a year earlier. The two of them curl up together, play, play-fight and get into mischief together. Their closeness has been especially gratifying for everyone in the family.

I hope your cats, at least one of them, will bond with Phin the same way.

Most excellent. He's a nice looking cat, and very fortunate to have a family like you pick him. He'll fit in just fine, I'm sure.

Thanks! He sure fits in with me and Mrs. Snave so far!

He slept most of the night through, right next to me. There were only a couple of times when he wanted to play, oh, at about 1:30 a.m. and about 4:00 a.m. But it didn't take much for me to calm him down, and then we'd get right to sleep.

He is a good little guy!

Awww. He's so cute! I'm sure Zeva will warm up to Phin eventually. I remember many years ago when I introduced Monster when he was only a kitten to my old cat Patches. She hissed and swatted at him at first, but eventually they were inseparable.

I wish they didn't make me sick.
Dogs are fine for us, but cats are deadly.
It sure looks like are live wire.

The more cats the merrier! Unto they have completely overrun the house, then there are problems. ;-)
